The people there were nice and took good care of my mom. The rehabilitation area was very nice for PT and OT. My mom was in a nice, big, private room, with plenty of space and a bathroom in it, but it was a little dated. Arlington Courtoffers comprehensive medical programs in a safe and warm setting.
The staff was good; the PT, aides, and social worker were also good. Wesley Glen Retirement Community is amazing, I have a brother there and he is doing great. First I want to say there are maybe 2 aides that have been good. I can’t say that about the nurses especially the male nurse.
Highbanks Care Center
Some of their services include active retirement living and personalized assisted living care. They also have professionals that provide memory care. Moreover, they provide un and engaging activities for them. They also host shopping trips, symphony and theater trips, and movie nights. They also seemed to check in on him a lot, and all got him whatever he needed. The Abaco Rehabilitation And Nursing Facility seemed a very professional place and if you were in need of a nursing faclitiy i would highly recomend it. The nurse proceeded to apologize to the paramedics stating that it was not an emergency call. As it turned out, they overdosed our loved one and the ER had to give our loved one NARCAN. The nurse that night happened to be the "nurse of the month". The next instance occurred when we told the nurse manager that we thought our loved one had a UTI.

My mother, age 102 and 2/3 years old, has been there for a couple of weeks now and if someone isn’t there all the time she does not get the treatment she should. They have tried to change her medication from every 4 hours to every 6 hours and she can only take tylenol for pain. One Nurse tried to make her go 9 hours without it, worried about her liver. Excuse me but at 102 yrs the liver is not the most important thing.
The nurse manager dismissed it and a day or so later we had to beg the nurse to call the paramedics again when our loved one was unresponsive. As it turned out, our loved one turned septic due to a UTI that should have been treated. The nurse in the hospital ICU also told us that the ER had to give our loved one NARCAN again. After going through septic shock our loved survived, but was never the same again suffering from permanent damage.
He’s there for rehab and he’s comfortable there. He’s in the same wing with the same caretakers so it was an easy transition. The staff is friendly, they’re cooperative, we’ve been pleased with our interactions with them. I have not been in the dining room, he often has had his meals in his room, but the food looks really good.
